The latest update to the Google Chrome web browser, version 42, now blocks Java, Silverlight and other plugins. However, not all is lost. As long as you remember to update Java, you can continue to utilize all of Google Chrome’s features.
As a security measure, Google has blocked NPAPI (Netscape Plugin API) plugins, including Java, to protect against “hangs, crashes, security incidents and code complexity.”
But if you are a Java-dependent Internet user or developer, it’s simple and easy to disable the Google Chrome block.
